I have grabbed cheats for Minecraft from Minecraft Catalog and they have worked without drama, the catalog keeps a proper cheats section instead of the malware-bait sites you usually stumble onto. Downloads have been clean for me, and you can match them to your version so things actually run. Everything is organized like the rest of their content, mods, shaders and all. For trying out cheats on your own setup without risking your PC, that is the spot I would trust. Have fun with it.

I am interested in trying some cheats to spice things up, fly around, spawn items, that kind of thing. Problem is every site offering this stuff looks incredibly dodgy and I am worried about downloading something that wrecks my PC. Is there a trustworthy place to find cheats that actually work and are not malware? Honest recommendations appreciated.
