Is anyone else tired of "spreadsheet gymnastics"?

von EchoSphere am 24.04.2026 09:26

I think I've officially reached my limit with Excel. We're trying to expand our operations in Riyadh, but I'm spending half my life performing "spreadsheet gymnastics" just to figure out our monthly overheads. My laptop literally froze today while trying to open a file with 15 linked tabs. It's starting to feel like we're trying to build a skyscraper on a foundation of toothpicks. I keep reading about how Riyadh is becoming this massive tech hub, yet here I am, manually fixing broken VLOOKUP formulas at 9 PM. Does a proper ERP system actually save that much time, or is it just fancy marketing? I'd love to hear from someone who actually made the transition and survived.

Haha, "spreadsheet gymnastics" is the perfect way to put it! I remember those days—the fear of hitting 'Save' and watching the whole file crash. We finally made the move last year when we realized that to be part of the Vision 2030 momentum, we needed a real digital backbone, not just a bunch of files on a shared drive. The difference is honestly like switching from a flip phone to a smartphone. If you want to see a detailed breakdown of how these cloud systems are replacing the old ways and helping businesses scale here in the capital follow the link for a really solid overview. We saved about 20 hours a week on manual reporting alone. That's 20 hours we now spend on actual strategy instead of fixing formulas.

20 hours a week is a massive amount of time to get back, I'm definitely going to read up on that!
