from Kisskiss on 10/22/2025 01:56 PMAh, the classic "cardboard persona" problem! I hit that wall all the time until a senior designer introduced me to a technique that frames the user's entire experience. What you need is a UX empathy map . It forces you to break down what the user says, thinks, feels, and does, which reveals those hidden pain points and motivations that pure demographics miss. It completely changed how I approach user understanding and makes my research findings so much more actionable for the whole team.
How do you really get inside your user's head?
from himynames on 10/22/2025 12:03 PMOkay team, I'm struggling with a persona for a new fitness app. I have all the basic demographics—age, location, tech usage—but it all feels so flat. When I present it to the team, it doesn't seem to help us make better design decisions. How do you move beyond just the facts and figures to really understand what a user is thinking and feeling? I feel like I'm missing a key tool to make my personas feel alive.
